The system we have rebuilt most often and know best. The manager posts the shifts, staff bid on the ones they want, and the manager approves or rejects. Everyone sees the same plan, and nobody has to ask twice whether they got the shift.
It runs in a restaurant today, where it replaced rounds of text messages and a manager holding the whole picture alone.
